Ingredients

  • 2 cups all-purpose flour
  • 2 teaspoons baking powder
  • 0.5 teaspoons baking soda
  • 0.25 teaspoons salt
  • 1.5 teaspoons ground cinnamon
  • 1 teaspoons ground ginger
  • 0.5 teaspoons ground nutmeg
  • 0.5 cups unsalted butter, softened
  • 0.5 cups brown sugar, packed
  • 0.75 cups honey
  • 2 pieces large eggs
  • 0.75 cups milk
  • 1 teaspoons vanilla extract

Directions

Step 1

Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C). Grease a standard 9x5-inch loaf pan and line it with parchment paper for easy removal.

Step 2

In a medium mixing bowl, whisk together the all-purpose flour, baking powder, baking soda, salt, ground cinnamon, ground ginger, and ground nutmeg. Set aside.

Step 3

In a large mixing bowl, cream the softened unsalted butter and brown sugar together using an electric mixer on medium speed until light and fluffy, about 2-3 minutes.

Step 4

Add the honey to the butter and sugar mixture and continue to mix until well combined.

Step 5

Add the eggs one at a time, beating well after each addition. Scrape down the sides of the bowl as needed.

Step 6

Stir in the vanilla extract.

Step 7

Gradually add the dry ingredients to the wet ingredients in three additions, alternating with the milk in two additions. Begin and end with the dry ingredients. Mix just until combined after each addition; do not overmix.

Step 8

Pour the batter evenly into the prepared loaf pan and smooth the top with a spatula.

Step 9

Bake in the preheated oven for 45-50 minutes, or until a toothpick inserted into the center of the loaf comes out clean.

Step 10

Remove the loaf from the oven and allow it to cool in the pan for 10 minutes. Then transfer it to a wire rack to cool completely before slicing.
