Ingredients

  • 0.75 cup Water
  • 0.25 cup Milk
  • 3 tablespoons Honey
  • 2 tablespoons Sesame oil (or canola oil)
  • 2.5 cups All-purpose flour
  • 0.5 cup Whole wheat flour
  • 2 tablespoons Sesame seeds
  • 1 teaspoon Salt
  • 2.25 teaspoons Instant yeast

Directions

Step 1

Pour the water, milk, honey, and sesame oil into the bread machine pan in the order recommended by the manufacturer. In most cases, it is best to add liquids first.

Step 2

Add the all-purpose flour, whole wheat flour, sesame seeds, salt, and instant yeast on top of the liquids. Ensure the salt and yeast are not in direct contact by placing the yeast on one side of the flour mound and the salt on the opposite side.

Step 3

Secure the bread machine pan into the machine and select the basic or white bread cycle with a medium crust setting. Start the machine.

Step 4

About 10 minutes into the kneading cycle, check the dough for consistency. If it is too sticky, add 1 tablespoon of flour at a time, or if it is too dry, add 1 teaspoon of water at a time. The dough should form a soft ball that pulls away from the sides of the pan.

Step 5

Allow the bread machine to complete the full cycle, including kneading, rising, and baking.

Step 6

When the machine beeps, carefully remove the bread pan using oven mitts. Let the bread rest in the pan for 10 minutes before transferring it to a wire rack to cool completely.

Step 7

Slice and serve as desired—this bread pairs well with butter, jam, or as a base for your favorite sandwiches.
