Ingredients

  • 2 lbs ground beef
  • 1 cup breadcrumbs
  • 0.5 cup milk
  • 1 cup onion, finely chopped
  • 2 large egg
  • 2 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 tsp salt
  • 0.5 tsp black pepper
  • 0.5 tsp dried thyme
  • 3 tbsp honey
  • 2 tbsp yellow mustard
  • 1 tbsp ketchup

Directions

Step 1

Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C) and line a baking sheet or loaf pan with parchment paper, or lightly grease it.

Step 2

In a large mixing bowl, combine the ground beef, breadcrumbs, milk, chopped onion, eggs, minced garlic, salt, black pepper, and dried thyme.

Step 3

Using clean hands or a large spoon, mix the ingredients until just combined. Avoid overmixing to keep the meatloaf tender.

Step 4

Transfer the mixture onto the prepared baking sheet or into the loaf pan and shape it into a loaf, approximately 9x4 inches if free-form on a sheet.

Step 5

In a small bowl, whisk together the honey, yellow mustard, and ketchup to prepare the glaze.

Step 6

Spread half of the glaze evenly over the top and sides of the meatloaf using a spoon or brush.

Step 7

Place the meatloaf in the preheated oven and bake for 45 minutes.

Step 8

Remove the meatloaf from the oven and spread the remaining glaze over the top. Return it to the oven and bake for another 15 minutes, or until the internal temperature of the meatloaf reaches 160°F (71°C).

Step 9

Let the meatloaf rest for 10 minutes before slicing. This helps it hold its shape when cutting.

Step 10

Serve warm with your favorite sides, such as mashed potatoes and roasted vegetables.
