Ingredients

  • 8 pounds bone-in ham
  • 0.5 cups honey
  • 0.5 cups Marsala wine
  • 0.25 cups brown sugar
  • 2 tablespoons Dijon mustard
  • 2 tablespoons butter
  • 0.5 teaspoons ground cinnamon
  • 0.25 teaspoons ground cloves
  • 1 teaspoons orange zest
  • 2 tablespoons orange juice

Directions

Step 1

Preheat your oven to 325°F (165°C).

Step 2

Place the ham in a roasting pan, flat side down, and score the surface of the ham in a diamond pattern, making shallow cuts about an inch apart.

Step 3

In a small saucepan, combine honey, Marsala wine, brown sugar, Dijon mustard, butter, ground cinnamon, ground cloves, orange zest, and orange juice. Heat over medium heat, stirring frequently, until the sugar dissolves and the mixture is well blended. Remove from heat.

Step 4

Brush a generous amount of the glaze all over the ham, covering the scored surface.

Step 5

Cover the roasting pan with aluminum foil and place it in the preheated oven. Bake the ham for 2 hours, basting with the glaze every 30 minutes.

Step 6

After 2 hours, remove the foil and brush on more glaze. Increase the oven temperature to 375°F (190°C) and bake uncovered for an additional 30-45 minutes, basting every 15 minutes, until the ham is golden brown and caramelized.

Step 7

Remove the ham from the oven and let it rest for 15 minutes before slicing.

Step 8

Serve warm with any remaining glaze drizzled over the top or served on the side.
