Ingredients

  • 240 ml Warm water
  • 2.25 teaspoons Active dry yeast
  • 60 ml Honey
  • 60 grams Unsalted butter (melted and slightly cooled)
  • 120 ml Milk (room temperature)
  • 1.5 teaspoons Salt
  • 480 grams All-purpose flour
  • 1 large Egg (beaten, for egg wash)
  • 15 grams Butter (for brushing, optional)

Directions

Step 1

In a large mixing bowl, combine warm water and honey, stirring until the honey dissolves. Sprinkle the active dry yeast on top and let it sit for 5-10 minutes, until it becomes frothy.

Step 2

Add the melted butter, milk, and salt to the yeast mixture. Mix until well combined.

Step 3

Gradually add the flour one cup at a time, mixing after each addition until a soft dough forms.

Step 4

Turn the dough onto a lightly floured surface and knead for 8-10 minutes, until the dough is smooth and elastic.
