Ingredients

  • 4 cups All-purpose flour
  • 2.25 teaspoons Instant yeast
  • 2 teaspoons Salt
  • 1 teaspoon Sugar
  • 2 tablespoons Olive oil
  • 1.5 cups Warm water
  • 1.5 cups Pizza sauce
  • 3 cups Shredded mozzarella cheese
  • 2 cups Toppings of choice (pepperoni, veggies, cooked sausage, etc.)
  • 2 tablespoons Cornmeal (for dusting)

Directions

Step 1

In a large mixing bowl, combine the all-purpose flour, instant yeast, salt, and sugar. Mix well.

Step 2

Add the olive oil and warm water to the dry ingredients. Stir with a spoon or spatula until the dough starts to come together.

Step 3

Transfer the dough to a lightly floured surface and knead for 8-10 minutes until the dough is smooth and elastic.

Step 4

Place the kneaded dough in a lightly oiled bowl and cover with a damp cloth. Let it rise for 1 hour or until it doubles in size.

Step 5

Once risen, punch down the dough and divide it into 4 equal portions (or more if making smaller pizzas).

Step 6

Roll each portion into a 10-inch circle on a lightly floured surface, dusting with cornmeal to prevent sticking.

Step 7

Place each rolled-out pizza base onto pre-cut sheets of parchment paper for easy handling and freezing.

Step 8

Spread about 1/4 cup of pizza sauce evenly over each pizza base, leaving a 1/2-inch border around the edges.

Step 9

Sprinkle 3/4 cup of shredded mozzarella cheese over the sauce layer.

Step 10

Add your desired toppings evenly on top of the cheese.

Step 11

Place the prepared pizzas on large baking trays and freeze for 2-3 hours, or until completely solid.

Step 12

Once frozen, wrap each pizza tightly in plastic wrap and then in aluminum foil for extra protection. Label with the date and toppings.

Step 13

When ready to bake, preheat your oven to 450°F (232°C). Remove the plastic wrap and foil, place the pizza on a baking sheet or pizza stone, and bake directly from frozen for 10-12 minutes, or until the crust is golden and the cheese is bubbly and melted.

Step 14

Slice and enjoy your homemade freezer pizza!
