Ingredients

  • 2 cups elbow macaroni
  • 1 pound ground beef
  • 1 medium yellow onion, diced
  • 2 cloves garlic, minced
  • 15 ounces tomato sauce
  • 14.5 ounces diced tomatoes
  • 1 tablespoon olive oil
  • 1 teaspoon dried Italian seasoning
  • 0.5 teaspoon paprika
  • 0.5 teaspoon salt
  • 0.25 teaspoon black pepper
  • 1 cup shredded cheddar cheese
  • 4 cups water

Directions

Step 1

Bring 4 cups of water to a boil in a large pot. Add the elbow macaroni and cook according to package instructions until al dente. Drain and set aside.

Step 2

In a large skillet or deep sauté pan, heat the olive oil over medium heat. Add the diced onion and sauté for 3-4 minutes until softened.

Step 3

Add the minced garlic to the skillet and sauté for 1 more minute until fragrant.

Step 4

Add the ground beef to the skillet and cook, breaking it up with a spoon, until fully browned and no longer pink. Drain any excess grease if necessary.

Step 5

Stir in the Italian seasoning, paprika, salt, and black pepper, mixing well to combine.

Step 6

Pour in the tomato sauce and diced tomatoes (with their juices). Stir everything together and bring the mixture to a simmer. Reduce the heat to low and let the sauce cook for about 10 minutes, stirring occasionally.

Step 7

Add the cooked macaroni to the skillet and gently stir to coat the pasta in the sauce.

Step 8

Sprinkle the shredded cheddar cheese over the top of the pasta mixture. Cover the skillet with a lid and let it sit for 2-3 minutes, or until the cheese is fully melted.

Step 9

Serve the Homemade Beefaroni warm, garnished with additional cheese or fresh herbs if desired.
