  • 0.5 cup milk
  • 2 large egg
  • 1 medium yellow onion, finely chopped
  • 2 cloves garlic, minced
  • 0.75 cup ketchup
  • 1 tbsp Worcestershire sauce
  • 1 tsp dried thyme
  • 0.5 tsp smoked paprika
  • 1.5 tsp salt
  • 0.75 tsp black pepper
  • 0.25 cup brown sugar
  • 1 tbsp apple cider vinegar
  • 0.25 tsp ground cinnamon
  • 0.125 tsp ground nutmeg

Directions

Step 1

Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C). Line a baking sheet or loaf pan with parchment paper or lightly grease it.

Step 2

In a large mixing bowl, combine the ground beef, ground pork, breadcrumbs, milk, eggs, onion, garlic, 1/4 cup of ketchup, Worcestershire sauce, thyme, smoked paprika, salt, and black pepper. Mix together gently until fully combined, being careful not to overwork the mixture.

Step 3

Shape the meat mixture into a loaf shape on the prepared baking sheet or press it evenly into a loaf pan.

Step 4

In a small mixing bowl, whisk together the remaining 1/2 cup of ketchup, brown sugar, apple cider vinegar, cinnamon, and nutmeg to make the glaze.

Step 5

Brush about half of the glaze over the top of the meatloaf, reserving the rest for later.

Step 6

Bake the meatloaf in the preheated oven for 50 minutes.

Step 7

Remove the meatloaf from the oven, brush the remaining glaze over the top, and return it to the oven. Bake for an additional 15-20 minutes or until the internal temperature reaches 160°F (71°C).

Step 8

Remove the meatloaf from the oven and let it rest for 10 minutes before slicing.

Step 9

Serve warm and enjoy a delightful holiday meal!
