Ingredients

  • 1 sheet Puff pastry sheet (thawed)
  • 1 wheel Brie cheese wheel (8 ounces)
  • 3 tablespoons Apricot preserves
  • 2 tablespoons Chopped pecans
  • 2 tablespoons Dried cranberries
  • 1 large Egg
  • 1 tablespoon Water
  • 1 tablespoon All-purpose flour (for dusting)

Directions

Step 1

Preheat your oven to 400°F (200°C) and line a baking sheet with parchment paper.

Step 2

Lightly dust your work surface with flour and roll out the puff pastry sheet to ensure it's smooth and slightly larger than the brie by at least 2 inches on all sides.

Step 3

Place the brie wheel in the center of the puff pastry.

Step 4

Spread the apricot preserves evenly on top of the brie.

Step 5

Sprinkle the chopped pecans and dried cranberries over the preserves, pressing them gently to ensure they stick.

Step 6

Fold the edges of the puff pastry up and over the brie, pleating and pinching as necessary to fully encase it. Trim any excess pastry to avoid thick overlaps, and press to seal the seams completely.

Step 7

In a small bowl, whisk together the egg and water to create an egg wash. Brush the egg wash over the entire surface of the wrapped brie to ensure a golden finish.

Step 8

Carefully transfer the wrapped brie seam-side down onto the prepared baking sheet.

Step 9

Bake in the preheated oven for 20-25 minutes, or until the pastry is golden brown and puffed.

Step 10

Remove from the oven and let rest for 5-10 minutes to allow the brie to settle.

Step 11

Transfer to a serving platter, optionally garnished with extra dried cranberries or pecans, and serve warm with crackers, sliced baguette, or fresh fruit.
