Ingredients

  • 1 pound Ground pork
  • 1/3 cup Hoisin sauce
  • 1 tablespoon Soy sauce
  • 1 teaspoon Sesame oil
  • 3 cloves Garlic, minced
  • 1 teaspoon Ginger, minced
  • 3 stalks Green onions, thinly sliced (whites and greens separated)
  • 1/2 cup Water chestnuts, diced
  • 1/3 cup Carrot, shredded
  • 2 teaspoons Rice vinegar
  • 1 teaspoon Sriracha (optional, for heat)
  • 12 leaves Butter lettuce leaves (or Boston lettuce)
  • 2 tablespoons Peanuts, chopped (for garnish, optional)
  • 2 tablespoons Fresh cilantro, chopped (for garnish, optional)

Directions

Step 1

In a large skillet over medium heat, heat the sesame oil. Add the minced garlic and ginger, cooking for 30 seconds until fragrant.

Step 2

Add the ground pork to the skillet, breaking it up with a wooden spoon. Cook for 5-7 minutes, or until the pork is browned and fully cooked.

Step 3

Stir in the hoisin sauce, soy sauce, rice vinegar, and sriracha (if using). Mix well to evenly coat the pork.

Step 4

Add the diced water chestnuts, shredded carrot, and the white portions of the green onions. Cook for another 2-3 minutes, allowing the flavors to meld together.

Step 5

Remove the skillet from heat and stir in the green portions of the green onions.

Step 6

Wash and dry the butter lettuce leaves thoroughly. Arrange them on a serving platter.

Step 7

Spoon the pork mixture into each lettuce leaf, being careful not to overfill.

Step 8

If desired, garnish with chopped peanuts and fresh cilantro for added texture and flavor.

Step 9

Serve immediately, allowing guests to pick up the lettuce wraps and enjoy!
