Ingredients

  • 4 pieces (6 oz each) Salmon or Sea Bass fillets
  • 4 tablespoons Hoisin sauce
  • 1 tablespoon Soy sauce
  • 1 tablespoon Honey
  • 1 teaspoon Rice vinegar
  • 1 teaspoon Sesame oil
  • 1 teaspoon (grated) Fresh ginger
  • 2 cloves (minced) Garlic
  • 1 tablespoon Sesame seeds
  • 2 stalks (thinly sliced) Scallions (green onions)
  • 0.5 teaspoons Salt
  • 0.25 teaspoons Black pepper
  • 1 tablespoon Olive oil

Directions

Step 1

Preheat your oven to 400°F (200°C). Line a baking sheet with parchment paper or aluminum foil for easier cleanup.

Step 2

Pat the salmon or sea bass fillets dry with paper towels. Season both sides with salt and black pepper.

Step 3

In a small mixing bowl, whisk together the hoisin sauce, soy sauce, honey, rice vinegar, sesame oil, grated ginger, and minced garlic until well combined.

Step 4

Heat a large skillet over medium-high heat and add the olive oil. Once hot, sear the fish fillets, skin side down (if applicable), for 2-3 minutes until the skin turns crispy and golden.

Step 5

Transfer the seared fillets to the prepared baking sheet, skin side down. Brush the hoisin glaze generously over the top of each fillet.

Step 6

Place the baking sheet in the preheated oven and bake for 10-12 minutes, or until the fish is cooked through and flakes easily with a fork. The internal temperature should reach 145°F (63°C).

Step 7

Remove the fillets from the oven and let them rest for 2 minutes. Sprinkle sesame seeds and sliced scallions over the top for garnish.

Step 8

Serve the hoisin glazed salmon or sea bass with steamed rice and a side of sautéed vegetables or a fresh salad. Enjoy!
