Ingredients

  • 500 grams lean ground beef
  • 500 grams lean ground turkey
  • 1 medium, finely chopped onion
  • 3 cloves, minced garlic
  • 2 large eggs
  • 100 grams rolled oats
  • 100 grams, finely chopped spinach
  • 1 medium, grated carrot
  • 100 grams low-fat shredded cheese
  • 2 tablespoons Worcestershire sauce
  • 1 teaspoon dried thyme
  • 1 teaspoon dried oregano
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • 0.5 teaspoon black pepper
  • 1 tablespoon olive oil

Directions

Step 1

Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C).

Step 2

In a large skillet, heat the olive oil over medium heat. Add the chopped onion and minced garlic, sautéing until the onion becomes translucent, about 5 minutes.

Step 3

In a large mixing bowl, combine the ground beef and ground turkey. Add the sautéed onions and garlic.

Step 4

Add the eggs, rolled oats, chopped spinach, grated carrot, shredded cheese, Worcestershire sauce, thyme, oregano, salt, and black pepper to the meat mixture.

Step 5

Using your hands or a sturdy spatula, mix everything together until well combined.

Step 6

On a piece of parchment paper or silicone baking mat, pat the mixture into a rectangular shape about 1 inch thick.

Step 7

Carefully roll the meat mixture into a log, starting from one of the shorter sides, using the parchment paper to help roll tightly.

Step 8

Transfer the meat roll, seam side down, onto a baking sheet lined with parchment paper.

Step 9

Bake in the preheated oven for about 60 minutes, or until the internal temperature reaches 160°F (71°C) and the outside is browned and crisp.

Step 10

Allow the meat roll to rest for 10 minutes before slicing and serving.
