Ingredients

  • 250 grams All-purpose flour
  • 50 grams Whey protein powder (unflavored or vanilla)
  • 7 grams Instant yeast
  • 50 grams Granulated sugar
  • 1 teaspoon Salt
  • 50 grams Unsalted butter
  • 180 milliliters Warm milk
  • 1 Egg
  • 750 milliliters Neutral oil (for frying)
  • 200 grams Your choice of jam
  • 50 grams Powdered sugar (for dusting)

Directions

Step 1

In a large mixing bowl, combine the all-purpose flour, whey protein powder, instant yeast, granulated sugar, and salt.

Melt the unsalted butter in a small saucepan over low heat, then remove from heat and add the warm milk, stirring to combine.

Step 3

Add the butter and milk mixture to the dry ingredients, along with the egg. Mix together until a sticky dough forms.

Knead the dough on a lightly floured surface for about 8-10 minutes until smooth and elastic.

Place the dough in a lightly greased bowl, cover it with a clean kitchen towel, and let it rise in a warm place for about 1-1.5 hours or until doubled in size.
