Ingredients

  • 240 grams Whole wheat flour
  • 60 grams Vanilla protein powder
  • 1 tablespoon Baking powder
  • 0.5 teaspoon Salt
  • 60 grams Unsalted butter
  • 120 grams Greek yogurt
  • 60 grams Honey
  • 1 large Egg
  • 120 ml Milk
  • 1 teaspoon Vanilla extract
  • 100 grams Dark chocolate chips
  • 1 teaspoon Instant yeast

Directions

Step 1

Preheat your oven to 180°C (350°F) and line a baking tray with parchment paper.

Step 2

In a large bowl, combine the whole wheat flour, vanilla protein powder, baking powder, salt, and instant yeast.

Step 3

In a small saucepan, melt the butter over low heat. Once melted, remove from heat and let it cool slightly.

Step 4

In a separate bowl, mix the melted butter, Greek yogurt, honey, egg, milk, and vanilla extract until well combined.

Step 5

Make a well in the center of the dry ingredients and pour the wet mixture into it. Stir until just combined.

Step 6

Fold in the dark chocolate chips gently, ensuring they are evenly distributed throughout the dough.

Step 7

Divide the dough into 12 equal-sized portions and shape each into a ball. Place the buns on the prepared baking tray, leaving a bit of space between each.

Step 8

Let the buns rest for about 10 minutes to allow the yeast to activate slightly.

Step 9

Bake the buns in the preheated oven for 12-15 minutes or until they are golden brown and cooked through.

Step 10

Remove from oven and allow to cool on a wire rack for at least 10 minutes before serving.
