Ingredients

  • 4 pounds pork spareribs
  • 0.5 cup fresh lemon juice
  • 1 tablespoon lemon zest
  • 3 tablespoons olive oil
  • 4 cloves garlic cloves, minced
  • 2 tablespoons fresh rosemary, chopped
  • 2 tablespoons fresh thyme, chopped
  • 2 tablespoons fresh parsley, chopped
  • 2 tablespoons honey
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • 0.5 teaspoon black pepper
  • 0.5 cup chicken broth
  • 4 slices lemon slices (optional, for garnish)

Directions

Step 1

Preheat your oven to 275°F (135°C).

Step 2

Remove the membrane from the back of the spareribs and pat the ribs dry with paper towels.

Step 3

In a small bowl, mix together the lemon juice, lemon zest, olive oil, minced garlic, rosemary, thyme, parsley, honey, salt, and black pepper to create the marinade.

Step 4

Rub the marinade generously all over the spareribs, ensuring they are evenly coated.

Step 5

Lay the spareribs meat-side up in a large roasting pan or baking dish. Add the chicken broth to the bottom of the pan to keep the ribs moist during cooking.

Step 6

Cover the pan tightly with aluminum foil and place it in the preheated oven. Cook for 3 hours, or until the ribs are tender and the meat is pulling away from the bones.

Step 7

Preheat your broiler to high.

Step 8

Remove the foil from the roasting pan and place the ribs under the broiler for 5–7 minutes to caramelize the top. Keep a close eye on them to avoid burning.

Step 9

Remove the ribs from the oven and let them rest for 5–10 minutes before slicing.

Step 10

Garnish with optional lemon slices and additional fresh herbs if desired. Serve warm and enjoy!
