Ingredients

  • 1 lb ground beef (80% lean, 20% fat)
  • 2 tbsp fresh parsley, finely chopped
  • 2 tbsp fresh chives, finely chopped
  • 1 tbsp fresh thyme leaves
  • 2 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 tsp salt
  • 0.5 tsp black pepper, freshly ground
  • 1 tbsp olive oil
  • 10 mini slider buns
  • 10 slices cheddar cheese slices, cut to fit sliders
  • 2 tbsp mayonnaise
  • 2 tbsp ketchup
  • 1 cup mixed greens or lettuce
  • 0.5 cup pickles, sliced

Directions

Step 1

In a large mixing bowl, combine the ground beef, parsley, chives, thyme, minced garlic, salt, and pepper. Mix gently with your hands until all ingredients are evenly incorporated. Do not overmix to keep the sliders tender.

Step 2

Divide the beef mixture into 10 equal portions and shape each portion into a small patty about 2 inches wide and 1/2 inch thick. Make a slight indentation in the center of each patty using your thumb to prevent them from puffing up during cooking.

Step 3

Heat a large skillet or grill pan over medium-high heat and add the olive oil.

Step 4

Place the slider patties in the pan, working in batches if necessary to avoid overcrowding. Cook for 3-4 minutes on one side, then flip and cook for another 3-4 minutes on the other side or until cooked to your desired doneness.

Step 5

During the last minute of cooking, place a slice of cheddar cheese on top of each patty so it melts.

Step 6

While the patties are cooking, lightly toast the slider buns on a griddle, in a toaster oven, or under the broiler for enhanced flavor.

Step 7

Spread a thin layer of mayonnaise and ketchup on the bottom side of each toasted bun.

Step 8

Place a cooked patty with melted cheese on the bun, then add a few mixed greens or lettuce leaves, a slice or two of pickle, and the top bun.

Step 9

Secure each slider with a toothpick if desired, and serve warm.
