Ingredients

  • 1 cup all-purpose flour
  • 1 cup whole milk
  • 2 large eggs
  • 2 tablespoons unsalted butter, melted
  • 2 tablespoons fresh chives, finely chopped
  • 2 tablespoons fresh parsley, finely chopped
  • 0.5 teaspoon salt
  • 0.25 teaspoon ground black pepper
  • 0 nonstick cooking spray

Directions

Step 1

Preheat your oven to 450°F (232°C). Place a standard 6-cup popover pan (or muffin tin) in the oven while it preheats to ensure the pan is hot.

Step 2

In a medium mixing bowl, whisk together the all-purpose flour, salt, and ground black pepper.

Step 3

In a separate bowl, whisk the eggs and milk until well combined. Slowly whisk the wet mixture into the dry ingredients until smooth. Avoid overmixing.

Step 4

Stir in the melted butter, fresh chives, and parsley until evenly distributed.

Step 5

Carefully remove the hot popover pan from the oven. Spray each cup with nonstick cooking spray to prevent sticking.

Step 6

Evenly divide the batter into the six cups of the hot pan, filling each about halfway full.

Step 7

Place the pan back in the oven and bake for 15 minutes at 450°F (232°C). Do not open the oven during this time to prevent the popovers from collapsing.

Step 8

After 15 minutes, reduce the oven temperature to 350°F (175°C) and bake for an additional 15 minutes, or until the popovers are golden brown and puffed.

Step 9

Remove the popovers from the pan immediately and place them on a wire rack to cool slightly. Serve warm.
