Ingredients

  • 2 whole baguettes
  • 100 grams unsalted butter
  • 3 cloves garlic cloves
  • 2 tablespoons parsley
  • 1 tablespoon thyme leaves
  • 1 teaspoon oregano
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • 0.5 teaspoon black pepper
  • 1 teaspoon olive oil

Directions

Step 1

Preheat the oven to 180°C (350°F).

Step 2

Slice the baguettes diagonally into 1.5-inch thick slices, leaving the bottom crust intact so the slices are still attached.

Step 3

In a small saucepan, melt the unsalted butter over low heat.

Step 4

Finely mince the garlic cloves and add them to the melted butter. Cook for 1-2 minutes, stirring constantly, but do not brown the garlic.

Step 5

Chop the parsley finely and combine it with thyme leaves and oregano. Add the herb mixture to the garlic butter along with the salt, black pepper, and olive oil. Stir well to combine.

Step 6

Using a pastry brush, generously coat the inside of each baguette slice with the garlic herb butter, ensuring the butter mixture seeps into the cuts.

Step 7

Wrap each baguette in aluminum foil, leaving the top slightly open to allow the crust to crisp up.

Step 8

Place the wrapped baguettes on a baking sheet and bake in the preheated oven for 12-15 minutes, or until the bread is golden and fragrant.

Step 9

Remove the baguettes from the oven and unwrap them carefully. Serve warm as a side or appetizer.
