Ingredients

  • 12 oz Angel hair pasta
  • 4 tbsp Unsalted butter
  • 2 tbsp Olive oil
  • 4 cloves Garlic cloves, minced
  • 2 cups Cherry tomatoes, halved
  • 0.25 cup Fresh basil leaves, chopped
  • 2 tbsp Fresh parsley, chopped
  • 0.5 cup Parmesan cheese, grated
  • 1 tsp Salt
  • 0.5 tsp Black pepper, freshly ground
  • 0.25 tsp Crushed red pepper flakes (optional)
  • 0.5 cup Reserved pasta water

Directions

Step 1

Bring a large pot of salted water to a boil. Cook the angel hair pasta according to the package instructions until al dente. Reserve 1/2 cup of pasta water, then drain the rest and set the pasta aside.

Step 2

In a large skillet, heat the olive oil and melt the butter over medium heat. Add the minced garlic and sauté for 1-2 minutes, stirring constantly, until fragrant but not browned.

Step 3

Add the halved cherry tomatoes to the skillet and cook for 4-5 minutes, stirring occasionally, until they soften and release some of their juices.

Step 4

Lower the heat slightly and stir in the chopped basil, parsley, salt, black pepper, and crushed red pepper flakes (if using). Cook for another 1-2 minutes to let the flavors meld.

Step 5

Add the cooked angel hair pasta to the skillet and toss gently to combine with the sauce. If the mixture seems dry, add the reserved pasta water, a little at a time, until the desired consistency is reached.

Step 6

Remove the skillet from the heat and sprinkle the grated Parmesan cheese over the pasta. Toss everything together until well-coated and creamy.

Step 7

Serve immediately, garnished with extra basil or parsley and a sprinkle of Parmesan cheese if desired. Pair with crusty bread and a side salad for a complete meal.
