Ingredients

  • 1 pound Ground beef
  • 1 large Onion
  • 1 cup Cheddar cheese
  • 2 sheets Puff pastry sheets
  • 2 cloves Garlic
  • 1 tablespoon Olive oil
  • 0.5 teaspoon Salt
  • 0.5 teaspoon Black pepper
  • 0.5 teaspoon Smoked paprika
  • 1 large Egg
  • 1 tablespoon Water

Directions

Step 1

Preheat your oven to 400°F (200°C) and line a baking sheet with parchment paper.

Step 2

In a large skillet, heat olive oil over medium heat.

Step 3

Dice the onion and mince the garlic. Add both to the skillet and sauté until the onion is soft and translucent, about 5 minutes.

Step 4

Add the ground beef to the skillet, breaking it up with a wooden spoon. Cook until fully browned, about 7-8 minutes.

Step 5

Stir in the salt, black pepper, and smoked paprika. Mix well and set aside to cool slightly.

Step 6

Lay out the puff pastry sheets on a lightly floured surface. Cut each sheet into 4 equal squares, making 8 squares in total.

Step 7

Place a heaping tablespoon of the cooked beef mixture in the center of each square, then sprinkle shredded cheddar cheese on top.

Step 8

Fold each square into a triangle, pressing the edges firmly together to seal. Use a fork to crimp the edges for a decorative effect.

Step 9

In a small bowl, whisk together the egg and water to create an egg wash. Brush the tops of each pastry with the egg wash.

Step 10

Transfer the pastries to the prepared baking sheet, leaving some space between each.

Step 11

Bake in the preheated oven for 20-25 minutes, or until the pastries are golden brown and puffed.

Step 12

Remove the pastries from the oven and let them cool slightly before serving.
