Ingredients

  • 1 lb Ground beef (80% lean)
  • 1 tsp Salt
  • 0.5 tsp Black pepper
  • 0.25 cup Teriyaki sauce
  • 4 Pineapple rings (fresh or canned)
  • 4 Hamburger buns
  • 0.25 cup Mayonnaise
  • 1 tbsp Sriracha sauce
  • 1 cup Coleslaw mix
  • 1 tsp Sesame oil
  • 1 tsp Rice vinegar
  • 0.5 tsp Sugar
  • 1 tbsp Butter

Directions

Step 1

In a large mixing bowl, combine ground beef, salt, and black pepper. Mix gently until just combined and form into 4 equal-sized patties.

Step 2

Heat a grill or skillet over medium-high heat. Place the patties on the grill/skillet and cook for about 4-5 minutes on each side, or until they reach your desired doneness.

Step 3

During the last minute of cooking the patties, brush each side with teriyaki sauce for added flavor. Remove from heat and let rest.

Step 4

While the patties rest, grill the pineapple rings on the same grill/skillet for about 2 minutes on each side, until caramelized and slightly charred. Set aside.

Step 5

Toast the hamburger buns lightly by spreading a thin layer of butter on the inner sides and placing them cut-side down on the hot grill/skillet for 1-2 minutes, until golden.

Step 6

In a small bowl, whisk together mayonnaise and sriracha sauce to make a spicy mayo.

Step 7

In another bowl, toss the coleslaw mix with sesame oil, rice vinegar, and sugar. This will serve as a crunchy slaw topping.

Step 8

To assemble the burgers, spread spicy mayo on the bottom bun. Add a teriyaki-glazed beef patty, followed by a grilled pineapple ring, a scoop of crunchy slaw, and the top bun.

Step 9

Serve immediately with your choice of side, such as sweet potato fries or a simple green salad.
