Ingredients

  • 150 grams Ground beef (80% lean)
  • 0.25 teaspoons Salt
  • 0.25 teaspoons Black pepper
  • 0.25 teaspoons Onion powder (optional)
  • 0.25 teaspoons Garlic powder (optional)
  • 1 piece Hamburger bun
  • 1 teaspoon Butter
  • 1 leaf Lettuce
  • 1 piece Tomato slice
  • 1 piece Cheese slice (optional)
  • 2 slices Pickles (optional)
  • 1 tablespoon Ketchup
  • 1 tablespoon Mayonnaise
  • 0.5 tablespoons Mustard (optional)
  • 1 teaspoon Cooking oil

Directions

Step 1

In a small mixing bowl, combine the ground beef with salt, black pepper, onion powder, and garlic powder (if using). Mix gently until just combined without overworking the meat.

Step 2

Shape the meat into a patty about 1-1.5 cm thick and slightly larger than the bun, as it will shrink during cooking.

Step 3

Heat a skillet or grill pan over medium-high heat and add the cooking oil.

Step 4

Once the pan is hot, place the burger patty in the skillet. Cook for 3-4 minutes on the first side without disturbing it.

Step 5

Flip the patty using a spatula, and cook on the second side for another 3-4 minutes or until it reaches your desired doneness. If adding cheese, place the slice on the patty during the last 2 minutes of cooking and cover the pan to let it melt.

Step 6

Meanwhile, slice the hamburger bun in half. Spread a thin layer of butter on the cut sides of the bun.

Step 7

Toast the bun in a separate skillet or toaster for 1-2 minutes until golden and slightly crisp.

Step 8

Assemble the hamburger: Place the bottom half of the bun on a plate. Add the lettuce, followed by the tomato slice and the cooked patty.

Step 9

Add pickles (if using) and drizzle ketchup, mayonnaise, and mustard (if desired) on top.

Step 10

Finish by placing the top half of the bun over the assembled ingredients. Serve immediately with your favorite sides or enjoy it on its own!
