Ingredients

  • 500 g Ground beef
  • 1 tsp Salt
  • 0.5 tsp Black pepper
  • 1 tsp Garlic powder
  • 1 tsp Onion powder
  • 125 g All-purpose flour
  • 3 large Eggs
  • 150 ml Whole milk
  • 2 tbsp Vegetable oil
  • 50 g Cheddar cheese (shredded)
  • 4 pieces Lettuce leaves
  • 4 pieces Tomato slices
  • 4 tbsp Burger sauce or mayonnaise

Directions

Step 1

Preheat your oven to 220°C (425°F). Prepare a 12-hole muffin tin by adding 1/2 tsp of vegetable oil to each cavity. Place the tin in the oven to heat while you prepare the batter.

Step 2

In a mixing bowl, whisk together the flour, eggs, and milk until smooth and lump-free to form the Yorkshire pudding batter. Let it rest for 15 minutes.

Step 3

While the batter rests, prepare the hamburgers. In a bowl, combine the ground beef, salt, pepper, garlic powder, and onion powder. Mix until evenly combined.

Step 4

Divide the beef mixture into 4 equal portions and shape into patties. Slightly flatten them for even cooking.

Step 5

Heat a skillet over medium-high heat and cook the patties for 3-4 minutes per side or until browned and cooked through. Set aside and keep warm.

Step 6

Carefully remove the muffin tin from the preheated oven. Divide the Yorkshire pudding batter evenly among the 12 cavities, aiming for about 3/4 full each. Quickly return the tin to the oven.

Step 7

Bake for 15-20 minutes or until the Yorkshire puddings are puffed and golden brown. Do not open the oven during baking to avoid deflation.

Step 8

To assemble, slice each Yorkshire pudding horizontally like a bun. Spread burger sauce or mayonnaise on the bottom half.

Step 9

Add lettuce, a cooked hamburger patty, and a tomato slice to each Yorkshire pudding 'bun.' Optionally, sprinkle cheddar cheese over the patty before adding the top half of the Yorkshire pudding.

Step 10

Serve immediately and enjoy this delightful hamburger and Yorkshire pudding fusion!
