Ingredients

  • 3.5 cups All-purpose flour
  • 2 tablespoons Granulated sugar
  • 1 teaspoon Salt
  • 2.25 teaspoons Instant yeast
  • 1 cup Whole milk
  • 4 tablespoons Unsalted butter
  • 1 large Egg
  • 8 slices Deli ham
  • 8 thin slices Cheddar cheese
  • 1 large Egg (for egg wash)
  • 1 tablespoon Water
  • 1 tablespoon Sesame seeds (optional)

Directions

Step 1

In a large mixing bowl, combine the flour, sugar, salt, and instant yeast.

In a small saucepan, heat the milk and butter on low heat until the butter is melted and the mixture is warm to the touch (about 110°F/43°C).

Add the warm milk mixture and the egg to the dry ingredients. Mix until a dough forms.

Turn the dough out onto a floured surface and knead for about 8-10 minutes, until the dough is soft and elastic.
