Ingredients

  • 2 sheets Puff pastry sheets (thawed)
  • 3 tablespoons Unsalted butter (melted)
  • 1 third cup Granulated sugar
  • 2 teaspoons Ground cinnamon
  • 1 cup Powdered sugar
  • 2 tablespoons Milk
  • 5 drops Orange food coloring
  • 2 tablespoons Halloween sprinkles (optional)

Directions

Step 1

Preheat your oven to 400°F (200°C) and line a baking sheet with parchment paper.

Step 2

In a small bowl, mix the granulated sugar and ground cinnamon together. Set aside.

Step 3

On a clean work surface, lay out one sheet of puff pastry and brush it evenly with 1 1/2 tablespoons of melted butter.

Step 4

Sprinkle half of the cinnamon-sugar mixture evenly over the buttered puff pastry.

Step 5

Place the second puff pastry sheet on top, pressing gently to adhere. Brush the top layer with the remaining melted butter and sprinkle with the rest of the cinnamon-sugar mixture.

Step 6

Using a sharp knife or a pizza cutter, slice the layered puff pastry into 12 equal strips (about 1 inch wide).

Step 7

Take each strip and twist it several times to create a spiral effect. Arrange the twisted strips on the prepared baking sheet, leaving at least 1 inch between each.

Step 8

Bake in the preheated oven for 12-15 minutes, or until the twists are golden brown and flaky. Remove from the oven and let cool completely on a wire rack.

Step 9

While the twists cool, prepare the icing. In a bowl, whisk together the powdered sugar, milk, and orange food coloring until smooth.

Step 10

Drizzle the orange icing over the cooled cinnamon twists and, if desired, decorate with Halloween sprinkles. Allow the icing to set for a few minutes.

Step 11

Serve and enjoy your Halloween Cinnamon Twists!
