Ingredients

  • 115 grams Unsalted butter
  • 170 grams Semi-sweet chocolate chips
  • 200 grams Granulated sugar
  • 50 grams Brown sugar
  • 2 Large eggs
  • 1 teaspoon Vanilla extract
  • 125 grams All-purpose flour
  • 20 grams Unsweetened cocoa powder
  • 0.5 teaspoons Salt
  • 120 milliliters Guinness beer (stout)

Directions

Step 1

Preheat your oven to 175°C (350°F) and line a 9x9-inch baking pan with parchment paper, letting some overhang for easy removal later.

Step 2

In a medium saucepan, melt the butter over low heat. Once melted, add the chocolate chips and stir until smooth. Remove from heat and let cool slightly.

Step 3

In a large mixing bowl, whisk together the granulated sugar, brown sugar, eggs, and vanilla extract until smooth and creamy.

Step 4

Slowly pour the melted chocolate mixture into the sugar and egg mixture, whisking constantly until fully combined.

Step 5

In a separate bowl, sift together the flour, cocoa powder, and salt. Gradually fold the dry ingredients into the wet ingredients using a spatula, being careful not to overmix.

Step 6

Pour the Guinness into the batter and gently fold until the beer is fully incorporated.

Step 7

Pour the brownie batter into the prepared baking pan and spread it out evenly.

Step 8

Bake in the preheated oven for 30-35 minutes, or until a toothpick inserted into the center comes out with a few moist crumbs (not wet batter).

Step 9

Allow the brownies to cool completely in the pan on a wire rack before lifting them out using the parchment paper overhang.

Step 10

Slice into 12 squares and serve. Optionally, dust with powdered sugar or serve with a scoop of vanilla ice cream.
