Ingredients

  • 8 ounces sliced turkey breast
  • 4 slices sandwich bread
  • 4 slices cheddar cheese
  • 1 medium tomato
  • 2 whole lettuce leaves
  • 2 tablespoons mayonnaise
  • 1 teaspoon yellow mustard
  • 2 tablespoons butter
  • 0.25 teaspoons salt
  • 0.25 teaspoons black pepper

Directions

Step 1

Thinly slice the tomato and lightly sprinkle with salt and black pepper. Set aside.

Step 2

Spread 1 tablespoon of mayonnaise on one side of each slice of bread.

Step 3

Spread a thin layer of mustard on the other side of each slice of bread.

Step 4

Layer 2 ounces of turkey breast and 1 slice of cheddar cheese on the mustard side of two of the bread slices.

Add 1 lettuce leaf and a few slices of tomato on top of the cheese layer.

Place the remaining bread slices on top, mayonnaise side facing outward, to form two sandwiches.

Heat a skillet or griddle over medium heat and add 1 tablespoon of butter, spreading it evenly across the surface.

Place the sandwiches onto the skillet and cook for approximately 3-4 minutes on one side, or until golden brown.

Step 9

Flip the sandwiches carefully and add the remaining tablespoon of butter to the skillet. Cook for another 3-4 minutes, pressing lightly with a spatula, until the bread is golden and the cheese is melted.

Step 10

Remove the sandwiches from the skillet, cut in half if desired, and serve immediately.
