Ingredients

  • 4 whole fish Fresh trout (cleaned and gutted)
  • 8 tablespoons Unsalted butter
  • 4 cloves Garlic (minced)
  • 2 tablespoons Fresh parsley (chopped)
  • 2 tablespoons Lemon juice (freshly squeezed)
  • 2 tablespoons Olive oil
  • 1 teaspoon Salt
  • 0.5 teaspoon Black pepper (freshly ground)
  • 2 whole Lemons (sliced for serving, optional)

Directions

Step 1

Preheat your grill to medium-high heat (around 375–400°F). Clean and oil the grates to prevent sticking.

Step 2

Rinse the trout inside and out under cold water and pat them dry with paper towels.

Step 3

Rub the outside and inside cavity of each trout with olive oil. Season evenly with salt and black pepper.

Step 4

In a small saucepan, melt the butter over medium-low heat. Add the minced garlic and sauté for 1–2 minutes, or until fragrant. Remove from heat and stir in parsley and lemon juice.

Step 5

Place the trout directly onto the prepared grill grates. Grill for 5–7 minutes per side, or until the fish is opaque and flakes easily with a fork. Use a wide spatula to carefully flip the trout halfway through cooking.

Step 6

Once the trout is cooked, transfer them to a serving platter. Drizzle the garlic butter sauce generously over the fish.

Step 7

Serve immediately with sliced lemons on the side for an extra burst of flavor, if desired.
