Ingredients

  • 1.5 pounds Ground beef (80% lean)
  • 0.5 cups Blue cheese crumbles
  • 1 teaspoon Kosher salt
  • 0.5 teaspoons Freshly ground black pepper
  • 1 tablespoon Worcestershire sauce
  • 0.5 teaspoons Garlic powder
  • 4 pieces Burger buns
  • 4 pieces Lettuce leaves
  • 4 pieces Tomato slices
  • 4 pieces Red onion slices
  • 0.25 cups Mayonnaise
  • 2 tablespoons Butter, softened

Directions

Step 1

Preheat your grill to medium-high heat.

Step 2

In a large mixing bowl, combine the ground beef, salt, black pepper, Worcestershire sauce, and garlic powder. Mix gently until just combined.

Step 3

Divide the beef mixture into 8 equal portions and flatten into thin patties, approximately 4 inches in diameter.

Step 4

Place 2 tablespoons of blue cheese crumbles in the center of 4 patties, leaving a small border around the edges.

Step 5

Place the remaining 4 patties on top of the blue cheese-topped patties. Pinch and seal the edges tightly to encase the cheese completely.

Step 6

Lightly oil the grill grates. Place the stuffed patties on the grill and cook for 4–5 minutes per side, or until the internal temperature reaches 160°F (71°C), flipping once.

Step 7

While the burgers are cooking, split the burger buns and lightly spread softened butter on the cut sides. Place the buns on the grill, cut side down, for 1–2 minutes until toasted.

Step 8

Assemble the burgers: Spread mayonnaise on the bottom bun, then layer with lettuce, tomato slice, and red onion. Place the grilled burger patty on top, then add the top bun.

Step 9

Serve the burgers immediately with your favorite sides, such as fries or a green salad.
