Ingredients

  • 1 pound ground turkey
  • 0.5 cup feta cheese, crumbled
  • 0.25 cup red onion, finely chopped
  • 2 tablespoons fresh parsley, chopped
  • 2 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 teaspoon dried oregano
  • 0.5 teaspoon ground cumin
  • 0.5 teaspoon salt
  • 0.25 teaspoon black pepper
  • 1 tablespoon olive oil
  • 4 pieces whole wheat burger buns
  • 0.5 cup tzatziki sauce (optional for serving)
  • 4 pieces lettuce leaves
  • 4 pieces tomato slices

Directions

Step 1

In a large mixing bowl, combine the ground turkey, crumbled feta cheese, finely chopped red onion, chopped parsley, minced garlic, dried oregano, ground cumin, salt, and black pepper.

Step 2

Mix the ingredients gently with your hands until just combined, being careful not to overwork the mixture.

Step 3

Divide the mixture into four equal portions and shape each portion into a burger patty, about 3/4 inch thick.

Step 4

Heat a grill or skillet over medium heat. Add the olive oil and swirl to coat the surface.

Step 5

Place the burger patties onto the grill or skillet and cook for 4-5 minutes per side, or until the internal temperature reaches 165°F (74°C).

Step 6

While the burgers are cooking, lightly toast the whole wheat burger buns on the grill or in a toaster, if desired.

Step 7

Assemble the burgers by placing each turkey patty onto a toasted bun. Top with optional tzatziki sauce, lettuce leaves, and tomato slices.

Step 8

Serve immediately and enjoy your Greek Turkey Burgers!
