Ingredients

  • 500 grams Shrimp
  • 1 teaspoon Turmeric powder
  • 1 teaspoon Salt
  • 2 tablespoons Oil
  • 1 medium Onion, finely chopped
  • 3 cloves Garlic cloves, minced
  • 1 medium Tomato, finely chopped
  • 1 tablespoon Tamarind paste
  • 200 ml Coconut milk
  • 1 teaspoon Red chili powder
  • 1 teaspoon Coriander powder
  • 1 teaspoon Cumin powder
  • 1 teaspoon Mustard seeds
  • 2 tablespoons Fresh coriander leaves, chopped
  • 2 chilies Green chilies, slit
  • 100 ml Water

Directions

Step 1

Clean and de-vein the shrimp. Rinse thoroughly and marinate with 1/2 teaspoon turmeric powder and 1/2 teaspoon salt. Set aside for 10 minutes.

Heat oil in a pan over medium heat. Add mustard seeds and let them splutter.

Add the chopped onion and sauté until golden brown.

Stir in the minced garlic and sauté for another 30 seconds until fragrant.
