Ingredients

  • 120 grams Gluten-free all-purpose flour
  • 60 grams Chickpea flour
  • 1 teaspoon Baking powder
  • 1 teaspoon Salt
  • 0.5 teaspoon Ground black pepper
  • 0.5 teaspoon Garlic powder
  • 0.5 teaspoon Onion powder
  • 1 teaspoon Paprika
  • 1 large Egg
  • 120 milliliters Milk (gluten-free)
  • 100 grams Cheddar cheese, shredded
  • 2 tablespoons Green onions, finely chopped
  • 500 milliliters Sunflower oil

Directions

Step 1

In a large mixing bowl, combine the gluten-free all-purpose flour, chickpea flour, baking powder, salt, ground black pepper, garlic powder, onion powder, and paprika. Mix well to ensure even distribution of dry ingredients.

Step 2

Add the egg and milk to the dry ingredients, and mix until you have a thick batter.

Step 3

Fold in the shredded cheddar cheese and finely chopped green onions. Stir gently to incorporate them evenly throughout the batter.

Step 4

Roll spoonfuls of the batter into balls about the size of a walnut, using your hands to shape them. If the batter is too sticky, slightly moisten your hands to help with shaping.

Step 5

In a large saucepan or deep fryer, heat the sunflower oil over medium-high heat until it reaches 350°F (175°C).

Step 6

Carefully drop a few balls at a time into the hot oil. Do not overcrowd the pan. Fry each batch for about 3-4 minutes or until the balls are golden brown and crispy on the outside, turning occasionally for even frying.

Step 7

Remove the fried balls with a slotted spoon and let them drain on a paper towel-lined plate.

Step 8

Allow them to cool slightly before serving. Enjoy them warm, as the centers should be soft and cheesy.
