Ingredients

  • 500 grams Gluten-free puff pastry
  • 400 grams Ground pork sausage meat
  • 1 medium Onion
  • 50 grams Gluten-free breadcrumbs
  • 1 large Egg
  • 1 teaspoon Salt
  • 0.5 teaspoon Ground black pepper
  • 1 teaspoon Dried sage
  • 1 tablespoon Milk
  • 1 large Egg for egg wash

Directions

Step 1

Preheat your oven to 200°C (400°F) and line a baking tray with parchment paper.

Step 2

Finely chop the onion and sauté in a pan over medium heat until soft, about 5 minutes. Remove from heat and let it cool.

Step 3

In a large bowl, combine the ground pork sausage meat, sautéed onion, gluten-free breadcrumbs, one beaten egg, salt, ground black pepper, and dried sage. Mix well until everything is evenly incorporated.

Step 4

Roll out the gluten-free puff pastry into a rectangle, about 3mm thick, on a lightly floured surface using a gluten-free flour.

Step 5

Cut the pastry into two long rectangles.

Step 6

Shape the sausage filling into two long sausages and place each along the center of a pastry rectangle.

Step 7

Brush a little milk along one edge of each pastry rectangle to help seal them.

Step 8

Roll the pastry over the sausage filling to enclose it completely, pressing gently to seal the edges.

Step 9

Cut the rolls into 6 equal-sized pieces and place them seam side down on the prepared baking tray.

Step 10

Beat the remaining egg and brush it over the tops of the rolls for a golden finish.

Step 11

Bake in the preheated oven for 20-25 minutes until the pastry is golden brown and the sausage is cooked through.

Step 12

Allow to cool slightly on a wire rack before serving.
