Ingredients

  • 12 pounds Whole turkey
  • 0.5 cups Olive oil
  • 2 tablespoons Salt
  • 2 teaspoons Black pepper
  • 2 teaspoons Garlic powder
  • 2 teaspoons Onion powder
  • 1 teaspoon Dried thyme
  • 1 teaspoon Dried rosemary
  • 1 whole Lemon
  • 0.5 bunch Fresh parsley
  • 3 whole Carrots
  • 3 whole Celery stalks
  • 1 whole Yellow onion
  • 1 cup Chicken broth

Directions

Step 1

Preheat the oven to 325°F (165°C).

Step 2

Rinse the turkey under cold water and pat dry with paper towels. Remove giblets if included.

Step 3

Place the turkey in a large roasting pan with a rack.

Step 4

In a small bowl, combine the olive oil, salt, black pepper, garlic powder, onion powder, thyme, and rosemary.

Step 5

Rub the seasoned olive oil mixture all over the turkey, ensuring it's well coated.

Cut the lemon in half and place it inside the turkey cavity along with the parsley.

Chop carrots, celery, and onion into large pieces and place them around the turkey in the roasting pan.

Pour the chicken broth into the bottom of the pan.
