Ingredients

  • 2 cups Gluten-free all-purpose flour
  • 1 tbsp Baking powder
  • 0.5 tsp Salt
  • 0.5 tsp Garlic powder
  • 0.5 cup Cold unsalted butter
  • 1 cup Shredded cheddar cheese
  • 0.75 cup Milk
  • 1 Egg
  • 2 tbsp Chopped fresh chives

Directions

Step 1

Preheat your oven to 425°F (220°C) and line a baking sheet with parchment paper.

Step 2

In a large mixing bowl, combine the gluten-free all-purpose flour, baking powder, salt, and garlic powder.

Step 3

Cut the cold unsalted butter into small cubes and add it to the dry ingredients. Using a pastry cutter or your fingers, mix until the mixture resembles coarse crumbs.

Step 4

Stir in the shredded cheddar cheese and chopped fresh chives until evenly distributed.

Step 5

In a separate bowl, whisk together the milk and egg until well combined.

Step 6

Make a well in the center of the dry ingredients and pour in the milk and egg mixture. Stir until the dough just comes together. Be careful not to overmix.

Step 7

Using an ice cream scoop or a large spoon, drop the dough onto the prepared baking sheet, forming approximately 8 biscuits.

Step 8

Bake in the preheated oven for 12-15 minutes, or until the biscuits are golden brown on top and cooked through.

Step 9

Remove from the oven and allow the biscuits to cool slightly on a wire rack before serving.
