  • 1 cup Chickpea flour (besan)
  • 0.25 cup Rice flour
  • 0.5 teaspoon Red chili powder
  • 0.25 teaspoon Turmeric powder
  • 0.5 teaspoon Carom seeds (ajwain)
  • 0.25 teaspoon Baking soda
  • 0.5 teaspoon Cumin seeds
  • 1 teaspoon Salt
  • 0.75 cup Water
  • 1 unit Green chili, chopped
  • 2 tablespoons Coriander leaves, chopped
  • 2 cups Oil for frying

Directions

Step 1

Cut the gluten-free bread slices into halves or quarters based on your preference and set aside.

Step 2

In a large mixing bowl, add chickpea flour, rice flour, red chili powder, turmeric powder, carom seeds, cumin seeds, and salt.

Step 3

Gradually add water to the dry ingredients and mix well until a smooth and thick batter forms. Ensure there are no lumps.

Step 4

Add chopped green chili, coriander leaves, and baking soda to the batter. Mix well to incorporate.

Step 5

Heat oil in a deep frying pan over medium heat until it reaches 350°F (175°C).

Step 6

Dip each bread piece into the batter, thoroughly coating it on all sides.

Step 7

Carefully place the coated bread pieces into the hot oil. Fry in batches to avoid overcrowding.

Step 8

Fry the pakodas until they are golden brown and crispy, approximately 2-3 minutes per side.

Step 9

Using a slotted spoon, remove the pakodas from the oil and drain on paper towels to absorb excess oil.

Step 10
