Ingredients

  • 2 lbs Ground beef (85% lean)
  • 1 medium Onion (finely chopped)
  • 2 large Garlic cloves (minced)
  • 1 cup Breadcrumbs
  • 0.5 cup Milk
  • 2 large Eggs
  • 0.25 cup Ketchup
  • 1 tbsp Worcestershire sauce
  • 1.5 tsp Salt
  • 1 tsp Black pepper
  • 1 tsp Paprika
  • 0.25 cup Brown sugar (for glaze)
  • 0.25 cup Ketchup (for glaze)
  • 1 tbsp Yellow mustard (for glaze)
  • 1 tsp Apple cider vinegar (for glaze)

Directions

Step 1

Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C). Line a baking sheet with parchment paper or lightly grease a loaf pan.

Step 2

In a large mixing bowl, combine the ground beef, chopped onion, minced garlic, breadcrumbs, milk, eggs, ketchup, Worcestershire sauce, salt, black pepper, and paprika. Mix gently with your hands or a wooden spoon until just combined. Do not overmix to avoid a dense meatloaf.

Step 3

Transfer the meat mixture to the prepared baking sheet and shape it into a loaf, or press it evenly into the loaf pan.

Step 4

In a small bowl, whisk together the brown sugar, ketchup, mustard, and apple cider vinegar to create the glaze.

Step 5

Brush half of the glaze evenly over the top of the meatloaf.

Step 6

Bake the meatloaf in the preheated oven for 50 minutes.

Step 7

Remove the meatloaf from the oven and brush the remaining glaze on top. Return to the oven and bake for an additional 10 minutes, or until the internal temperature reaches 160°F (71°C).

Step 8

Let the meatloaf rest for 5-10 minutes before slicing. Serve warm with your favorite sides, such as mashed potatoes and green beans.
