Ingredients

  • 4 pieces (6 ounces each) salmon fillets
  • 0.25 cup soy sauce
  • 0.25 cup honey
  • 2 tablespoons brown sugar
  • 2 tablespoons olive oil
  • 1 tablespoon rice vinegar
  • 2 minced garlic cloves
  • 1 teaspoon (grated) fresh ginger
  • 1 teaspoon sesame seeds
  • 0.5 teaspoon black pepper
  • 2 sliced (for garnish) scallions
  • 1 as needed non-stick spray

Directions

Step 1

In a medium bowl, whisk together soy sauce, honey, brown sugar, olive oil, rice vinegar, minced garlic, grated ginger, sesame seeds, and black pepper until well combined to create the glaze.

Step 2

Place the salmon fillets in a shallow dish or resealable plastic bag. Reserve 2 tablespoons of the glaze for later and pour the remaining glaze over the salmon. Marinate the salmon in the refrigerator for at least 30 minutes, but no more than 1 hour.

Step 3

Preheat your grill to medium heat (about 375°F or 190°C). Lightly coat the grill grates with non-stick spray to prevent sticking.

Step 4

Remove the salmon from the marinade and discard any leftover marinade. Grill the salmon, skin side down, for 4-5 minutes.

Step 5

Brush the reserved glaze over the top of the salmon fillets. Flip the salmon carefully using a spatula and grill for an additional 4-5 minutes, or until the salmon flakes easily with a fork and reaches an internal temperature of 145°F (63°C).

Step 6

Remove the salmon from the grill and let it rest for 2 minutes. Garnish with sliced scallions and serve immediately.
