Ingredients

  • 4 packs (3 oz each, seasoning packets discarded) Ramen noodles
  • 1 lb (cut into thin strips) Beef sirloin
  • 2 tbsp (peeled and minced) Fresh ginger
  • 3 cloves (minced) Garlic
  • 0.25 cup Soy sauce
  • 2 tbsp Oyster sauce
  • 1 tbsp Brown sugar
  • 1 tsp Sesame oil
  • 2 tbsp Vegetable oil
  • 1 (sliced thinly) Red bell pepper
  • 1 (julienned) Carrot
  • 2 (chopped, green parts for garnish) Green onions
  • 4 cups Beef broth
  • 1 tbsp (mixed with 2 tbsp water) Cornstarch
  • 1 tbsp (optional, for garnish) Sesame seeds

Directions

Step 1

Cook the ramen noodles according to the package instructions, omitting the seasoning packet. Drain and set aside.

Step 2

In a small bowl, whisk together soy sauce, oyster sauce, brown sugar, sesame oil, and the cornstarch-water mixture. Set aside.

Step 3

Heat 1 tablespoon of vegetable oil in a large skillet or wok over medium-high heat. Add the beef strips and stir-fry until browned, about 3-4 minutes. Remove the beef from the skillet and set aside.

Step 4

Add the remaining 1 tablespoon of vegetable oil to the skillet. Sauté the ginger and garlic until fragrant, about 1 minute.

Step 5

Add the sliced red bell pepper and julienned carrot, stirring occasionally, until they are just tender, about 3-4 minutes.

Step 6

Pour the beef broth into the skillet and bring it to a simmer. Stir in the soy sauce mixture, letting it thicken for 1-2 minutes.

Step 7

Return the cooked beef to the skillet and toss to combine. Add the cooked ramen noodles to the skillet and mix gently to coat the noodles in the sauce and combine all ingredients evenly.

Step 8

Serve immediately, garnished with green onions and sesame seeds if desired.
