  • 4 pieces Slices of rustic bread
  • 2 tablespoons Butter
  • 100 grams Cheddar cheese, sliced
  • 100 grams Ham, sliced
  • 1 small Tomato, sliced
  • 0.5 teaspoon Salt
  • 0.5 teaspoon Black pepper

Directions

Step 1

Preheat your oven to 200°C (392°F) or heat a grill pan over medium heat.

Step 2

Lightly butter one side of each slice of bread.

Step 3

Place two slices of bread, buttered side down, on a baking sheet or grill pan.

Step 4

Layer evenly with sliced cheddar cheese, ham, and tomato slices.

Step 5

Season the tomato slices with a pinch of salt and black pepper.

Step 6

Cover each sandwich with another slice of bread, buttered side up.

Step 7

If using the oven, bake for about 5 minutes, then flip and bake for another 5 minutes until the bread is golden brown and the cheese is melted.

If using a grill pan, grill each side for around 3-4 minutes until golden brown and cheese is melted.

Step 9

Remove the sandwiches from the oven or grill pan.

Let them cool for a minute, then slice each sandwich in half and serve immediately.
