Ingredients

  • 4 pieces Chicken breasts
  • 6 cloves Garlic
  • 3 tablespoons Fresh tarragon
  • 2 tablespoons Butter
  • 2 tablespoons Olive oil
  • 1 cup Chicken broth
  • 0.5 cup Heavy cream
  • 1 teaspoon Salt
  • 0.5 teaspoon Black pepper
  • 2 tablespoons Lemon juice

Directions

Step 1

Season the chicken breasts with salt and black pepper on both sides.

Step 2

Mince 4 of the garlic cloves and thinly slice the remaining 2.

Step 3

Heat 1 tablespoon of olive oil and 1 tablespoon of butter in a large skillet over medium heat.

Step 4

Add the chicken breasts to the skillet and sear for 4-5 minutes on each side, or until golden brown. Remove the chicken from the skillet and set aside.

Step 5

In the same skillet, add the remaining olive oil and butter. Reduce the heat to medium-low.

Step 6

Add the minced and sliced garlic to the skillet and sauté for 1-2 minutes until fragrant, being careful not to burn the garlic.

Step 7

Pour the chicken broth into the skillet, scraping up any browned bits from the bottom of the pan with a wooden spoon.

Step 8

Stir in the heavy cream and lemon juice, then add the fresh tarragon. Let the mixture simmer for 3-4 minutes, allowing the flavors to meld.

Step 9

Return the chicken breasts to the skillet, spooning the sauce over the chicken.

Step 10

Cover the skillet and simmer for 12-15 minutes, or until the chicken is cooked through and the internal temperature reaches 165°F (74°C).

Step 11

Taste the sauce and adjust seasoning with additional salt and pepper if needed.

Step 12

Serve the Garlic Tarragon Chicken hot, spooning extra sauce over the top. Pair with rice, potatoes, or steamed vegetables for a complete meal.
