Ingredients

  • 12 oz spaghetti
  • 1 lb large shrimp, peeled and deveined
  • 3 tbsp olive oil
  • 6 cloves garlic, minced
  • 2 tbsp unsalted butter
  • 0.5 tsp red pepper flakes
  • 2 tbsp lemon juice, freshly squeezed
  • 2 tbsp parsley, fresh and chopped
  • 0.25 cup parmesan cheese, grated
  • 1 tsp salt
  • 0.5 tsp black pepper

Directions

Step 1

Bring a large pot of salted water to a boil. Cook the spaghetti according to the package instructions until al dente, about 9-11 minutes. Reserve 1/2 cup of pasta water before draining, then set the pasta aside.

Step 2

While the pasta cooks, pat the shrimp dry with paper towels and season with 1/2 teaspoon of salt and 1/4 teaspoon of black pepper.

In a large skillet, heat the olive oil over medium heat. Add the shrimp to the skillet in a single layer and cook for 2-3 minutes on each side until pink and opaque. Remove the shrimp from the skillet and set aside.
