Ingredients

  • 400 grams Spaghetti
  • 3 tablespoons Olive oil
  • 6 whole Garlic cloves
  • 0.5 teaspoons Red pepper flakes
  • 1 teaspoons Salt
  • 0.5 teaspoons Black pepper
  • 2 cups Marinara sauce
  • 6 leaves Fresh basil leaves
  • 0.5 cups Grated Parmesan cheese
  • 0 N/A Water for boiling pasta

Directions

Step 1

Bring a large pot of salted water to a boil. Add the spaghetti and cook according to the package instructions until al dente. Reserve 1 cup of pasta water, then drain the spaghetti and set aside.

Step 2

While the pasta cooks, heat olive oil in a large skillet over medium heat.

Step 3

Thinly slice the garlic cloves and add them to the olive oil. Sauté the garlic until fragrant and golden brown, about 2-3 minutes. Be careful not to burn the garlic.

Step 4

Add the red pepper flakes to the skillet and stir for 30 seconds to release their flavor.

Step 5

Stir in the marinara sauce and simmer for 5-7 minutes, allowing the flavors to meld together.

Step 6

Season the sauce with salt and black pepper to taste.

Step 7

Add the cooked spaghetti to the skillet with the sauce. Toss to coat the pasta evenly. If the sauce is too thick, stir in a few tablespoons of the reserved pasta water until it reaches the desired consistency.

Step 8

Remove the skillet from heat and garnish the pasta with fresh basil leaves and grated Parmesan cheese.

Step 9

Serve warm and enjoy your Garlic Pasta with Marinara Sauce!
