Ingredients

  • 3.5 cups All-purpose flour
  • 2 tablespoons Granulated sugar
  • 1 teaspoon Salt
  • 2.25 teaspoons Instant yeast
  • 1 cup Whole milk
  • 4 tablespoons Unsalted butter, softened
  • 1 large Egg
  • 3 tablespoons Unsalted butter, melted (for topping)
  • 2 cloves Garlic, minced
  • 1 tablespoon Fresh parsley, chopped
  • 0.5 cup Parmesan cheese, grated

Directions

Step 1

In a large mixing bowl, whisk together the all-purpose flour, sugar, salt, and instant yeast.

Step 2

Warm the milk in a small saucepan or microwave until it reaches 110°F (43°C). Add the softened butter and stir until melted.

Step 3

In a separate bowl, lightly beat the egg and combine it with the warm milk mixture.

Step 4

Pour the wet ingredients into the dry ingredients and mix until a soft dough forms.

Step 5

Knead the dough on a lightly floured surface for 8-10 minutes, or until smooth and elastic. Alternatively, use a stand mixer with a dough hook attachment for 5-6 minutes.

Step 6

Place the dough into a greased bowl, cover with plastic wrap, and let it rise in a warm place for 1-1.5 hours, or until doubled in size.

Step 7

Punch down the dough and divide it into 12 equal pieces. Roll each piece into a ball and place them on a greased or parchment-lined baking sheet, spaced slightly apart.

Step 8

Cover the rolls loosely with plastic wrap or a kitchen towel and let them rise for another 30-40 minutes, or until puffy.

Step 9

Preheat the oven to 375°F (190°C).

Step 10

Bake the rolls for 18-20 minutes, or until golden brown on top.

Step 11

While the rolls are baking, combine the melted butter, minced garlic, and chopped parsley.

Step 12

As soon as the rolls come out of the oven, brush them generously with the garlic butter mixture and sprinkle with grated Parmesan cheese.

Step 13

Serve warm and enjoy!
