Ingredients

  • 2 lbs ground beef
  • 1 cup breadcrumbs
  • 0.5 cup milk
  • 1 large egg
  • 4 medium garlic cloves
  • 0.5 medium yellow onion
  • 2 tablespoons Worcestershire sauce
  • 0.5 cup ketchup
  • 2 tablespoons parsley
  • 1 teaspoon dried oregano
  • 0.5 teaspoon dried thyme
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • 0.5 teaspoon black pepper
  • 1 teaspoon vegetable oil

Directions

Step 1

Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C).

Step 2

Line a baking sheet with aluminum foil or lightly grease a loaf pan. Set aside.

Step 3

Finely mince the garlic cloves and the half onion. Heat the vegetable oil in a small pan over medium heat and sauté the garlic and onion for 2-3 minutes until softened and fragrant. Allow to cool slightly.

Step 4

In a large mixing bowl, combine the ground beef, breadcrumbs, milk, egg, Worcestershire sauce, parsley, oregano, thyme, salt, and pepper. Add the sautéed garlic and onion.

Step 5

Using clean hands, mix the ingredients thoroughly until fully incorporated, but avoid overmixing to prevent a dense loaf.

Step 6

Transfer the meat mixture to the prepared baking sheet or loaf pan. Shape it into a loaf approximately 9x5 inches in size if using a sheet.

Step 7

Spread the ketchup evenly over the top of the meatloaf as a glaze.

Step 8

Place the meatloaf in the oven and bake for 50-55 minutes, or until the internal temperature reaches 160°F (71°C) when checked with a meat thermometer.

Step 9

Remove the meatloaf from the oven and let it rest for 10 minutes before slicing.

Step 10

Serve warm and enjoy with your favorite side dishes, such as mashed potatoes or roasted vegetables.
