Ingredients

  • 4 pieces Bone-in pork chops
  • 4 cloves Garlic cloves, minced
  • 0.25 cup Honey
  • 3 tablespoons Soy sauce
  • 2 tablespoons Olive oil
  • 2 tablespoons Unsalted butter
  • 0.25 cup Chicken broth
  • 2 sprigs Fresh thyme (optional, for garnish)
  • 1 teaspoon Salt
  • 0.5 teaspoon Black pepper

Directions

Step 1

Season the pork chops on both sides with salt and black pepper. Allow them to sit at room temperature for 10 minutes while you prepare the sauce ingredients.

Step 2

In a small bowl, whisk together the honey, soy sauce, and chicken broth. Set aside.

Step 3

Heat a large skillet over medium-high heat and add the olive oil. Once the oil is hot, add the pork chops to the skillet, making sure not to crowd the pan.

Step 4

Sear the pork chops for about 3-4 minutes per side, until golden brown and caramelized. Remove the pork chops from the skillet and set them aside on a plate.

Step 5

Reduce the heat to medium and add the unsalted butter to the skillet. Once melted, stir in the minced garlic and cook for about 1 minute, stirring frequently, until fragrant.

Step 6

Pour the honey-soy mixture into the skillet, deglazing the pan by scraping up any browned bits from the bottom. Bring the sauce to a simmer.

Step 7

Add the pork chops back into the skillet, spooning the sauce over them. Cover the skillet with a lid and cook for an additional 8-10 minutes, or until the pork chops reach an internal temperature of 145°F (63°C).

Step 8

Remove the pork chops from the skillet and let them rest for a few minutes. Meanwhile, let the sauce simmer for another 2-3 minutes to thicken slightly, if needed.

Step 9

Serve the pork chops drizzled with the garlic honey sauce and garnished with fresh thyme, if desired.
