Ingredients

  • 12 oz Spaghetti
  • 1 lb Shrimp, peeled and deveined
  • 1 tsp Salt
  • 0.5 tsp Black pepper
  • 2 tbsp Olive oil
  • 4 tbsp Unsalted butter
  • 4 cloves Garlic, minced
  • 0.5 tsp Red pepper flakes
  • 0.5 cup White wine
  • 2 tbsp Lemon juice
  • 2 tbsp Parsley, chopped
  • 0.5 cup Parmesan cheese, grated

Directions

Step 1

Bring a large pot of salted water to a boil. Add the spaghetti and cook according to package instructions until aldente, about 8-10 minutes. Drain and set aside.

Step 2

While the pasta is cooking, heat olive oil and 2 tablespoons of butter in a large skillet over medium-high heat.

Step 3

Add the shrimp in a single layer. Season with salt and black pepper. Cook for 1-2 minutes on each side until pink and opaque. Remove the shrimp from the skillet and set aside.

Step 4

In the same skillet, melt the remaining 2 tablespoons of butter over medium heat. Add minced garlic and red pepper flakes. Sauté for 30 seconds until fragrant.

Step 5

Pour in the white wine, scraping up any brown bits from the bottom of the skillet. Allow to simmer for 2-3 minutes until reduced by half.

Step 6

Stir in the lemon juice, mixing well to combine with the sauce.

Step 7

Add the cooked spaghetti to the skillet, tossing to coat with the sauce. If the pasta seems dry, add a little pasta water a tablespoon at a time until the desired consistency is reached.

Step 8

Add the shrimp back to the skillet with the pasta and gently toss to combine until heated through.

Step 9

Sprinkle the chopped parsley and grated Parmesan cheese over the pasta. Toss to combine all ingredients well.

Step 10

Serve immediately, garnished with extra parsley and Parmesan if desired.
