Ingredients

  • 1 cup walnuts
  • 3 pieces garlic cloves
  • 0.33 cup extra virgin olive oil
  • 0.5 cup grated Parmesan cheese
  • 1 tablespoon lemon juice
  • 0.25 cup water
  • 0.5 teaspoon salt
  • 0.25 teaspoon black pepper

Directions

Step 1

Toast the walnuts in a dry skillet over medium heat for 3-5 minutes, stirring frequently, until they are fragrant and lightly browned. Remove from heat and let them cool slightly.

Step 2

Peel the garlic cloves and roughly chop them.

Step 3

In a food processor or blender, add the toasted walnuts, chopped garlic, grated Parmesan cheese, lemon juice, salt, and black pepper.

Step 4

Start blending the ingredients and gradually pour in the olive oil while blending. Process the mixture until smooth, scraping down the sides of the bowl as needed.

Step 5

Add the water a little at a time to achieve your desired consistency. Blend again until the sauce is creamy and well combined.

Step 6

Taste the sauce and adjust the seasoning, adding more salt, pepper, or lemon juice if necessary.

Step 7

Transfer the sauce to a serving bowl or use it immediately with your favorite dish. Store any leftovers in an airtight container in the refrigerator for up to 3 days.
