Ingredients

  • 225 grams cream cheese
  • 50 grams granulated sugar
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 1 sheet puff pastry sheet
  • 150 grams fresh strawberries
  • 100 grams fresh blueberries
  • 1 large egg
  • 15 grams powdered sugar (for garnish)

Directions

Step 1

Preheat the oven to 200°C (400°F) and line a baking tray with parchment paper.

Step 2

In a medium mixing bowl, combine the cream cheese, granulated sugar, and vanilla extract. Beat until smooth and creamy.

Step 3

Wash and pat dry the strawberries and blueberries. Slice the strawberries into thin pieces.

Step 4

Unroll the puff pastry sheet onto a lightly floured surface. Using a rolling pin, gently smooth out any creases.

Step 5

Spread the cream cheese mixture evenly over the puff pastry, leaving a 2 cm (1 inch) border around the edges.

Step 6

Arrange the sliced strawberries and blueberries on top of the cream cheese mixture in an even layer.

Step 7

Gently roll the puff pastry from one end to the other to form a log. Seal the edges by pinching them together.

Step 8

Transfer the roll seam-side down onto the prepared baking tray.

Step 9

In a small bowl, whisk the egg. Brush the surface of the puff pastry roll with the egg wash to create a golden finish.

Step 10

Using a sharp knife, score light slashes on top of the roll to allow steam to escape.

Step 11

Bake in the preheated oven for 20-25 minutes or until the pastry is golden brown and puffed.

Step 12

Remove the roll from the oven and let it cool for 10 minutes.

Step 13

Dust with powdered sugar before slicing and serving. Serve warm or at room temperature for the best flavor.
