Ingredients

  • 250 ml Warm water
  • 3 tablespoons Olive oil
  • 1 tablespoon Honey
  • 1.5 teaspoons Salt
  • 400 grams Bread flour
  • 2 teaspoons Instant yeast
  • 1 teaspoon Garlic powder (optional)
  • 1 teaspoon Dried rosemary
  • 1 teaspoon Sea salt flakes
  • 2 tablespoons Additional olive oil for topping

Directions

Step 1

Add the ingredients to your bread machine in the following order: warm water, olive oil, honey, salt, bread flour, and instant yeast. If using garlic powder, add it with the dry ingredients.

Step 2

Set the bread machine to the 'Dough' setting and start. This process will take approximately 1.5 hours, during which the machine will knead and let the dough rise.

Step 3

Once the dough cycle is complete, transfer the dough to a lightly oiled 9x13-inch baking pan.

Step 4

Using your fingers, gently press the dough out to evenly fill the pan. Cover it loosely with a clean, damp kitchen towel and let it rest for about 20-30 minutes, or until it has doubled in size.

Step 5

Preheat your oven to 200°C (400°F).

Step 6

Once the dough has risen, use your fingertips to dimple the surface of the dough, creating small indentations.

Step 7

Drizzle the additional olive oil over the top, sprinkle with dried rosemary, and finish with a pinch of sea salt flakes.

Step 8

Bake in the preheated oven for 20-25 minutes, or until the focaccia is golden brown on top.

Step 9

Remove from the oven and let it cool slightly in the pan before transferring to a wire rack to cool completely.

Step 10

Slice into squares or strips and serve warm or at room temperature. Enjoy your homemade focaccia!
